Good news goldfish lovers out there! Goldie is now an award winning film as the picture above illustrates! That’s me with Kid’s First President Ranny Levy at the awards ceremony in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This was in early December. I know, you’re thinking, wow Matt, it’s taken you ages to post again. Well, yes I’ve been very busy I guess. I’ve been working on my next project which will be a little less “kid friendly” than Goldie, It’s a Zombie web series, and more information can be found on the Sister blog to this one. Goldie has had an amazing adventure throughout the world at the many festivals she/it has visited; and it was a pleasure and a priviledge for me to tag along! I only hope that my crazy band of zombies will be as nice to travel with.
You can still catch Goldie if you live on the right side of the USA, as it is still being programmed with Kid’s First this season. If not, you can Buy a copy! here.
Peace and giant Goldfish.

When a lonely young boy catches a mysterious goldfish while fishing on the lake, no one is prepared for what lies within. The boy’s troubled home life, leads to an emotion bond with the goldfish, based at least in part, on their similar circumstances. But when the goldfish starts doubling in size after every meal, the boy finds it increasingly difficult to keep his new friend a secret.
The film was shot over six days in and around north west London.
The post production took about 7 months of part time work. The animation of the Goldfish was done by Jason Snyman. Who has most recently been an Animator on James Cameron’s Avatar. All the animation for Goldie was done in 3dsmax and then composited in Shake.
